I read this article and got a chuckle. Here's a golden quote:
"I'm mad -- it's enough already," said a frustrated Stuart Gold, who said
he gets 1,000 e-mails a day as director of field marketing for Web analytics
company Omniture Inc."
If a three hour Blackberry outage caused Mr. Gold to lose his cool, do I really want to do business with him? I mean, really, it's not like the Internet was down. I'm sure he could get his e-mail from a laptop or at home or wherever.
It makes you wonder what people like this did before e-mail? Maybe you should put the Blackberry down and spend some time in the real world. I like my Blackberry, but an outage just means a little more free time to catch up on other stuff.

I think a Blackberry outage is a perfect time for addicts to do other things... like learning how to interact with humans again.
I'm a Email/Blackberry admin and I don't have one of my own. I never want to be that accessible. If someone wants to get in touch with me, they can pick up the phone. I reserve the right to not answer.
Don't get me wrong, they serve a valuable function, but they have turned some people into Pavlovian dogs who drool at each ring and chirp.
Mr Gold needs to unplug and enjoy the silence for a while.
